This winter has been a very cold one for Arkansas. Now, I'm not a fan of freezing temperatures - I'm more of a balmy sunny summer day kind of gal. But winter has its own merits and I'm beginning to learn to appreciate them. Just as long as winter doesn't outstay its welcome.
For one thing, winter slows down the hustle and bustle of everyday life, or at least it does down here. People opt more to stay indoors and enjoy the comforts of their own home rather than spending their leisure time outside. Instead of going out to eat, many are dining indoors and sharing their table with friends and family. I like that. Somehow the art of entertaining at home has 'gotten away from me'. I'm striving to get back. As they say here in the South, "Some things are worth hanging on to."

| With the colder weather in full swing, I have found a new 'favorite sitting spot' in the house. Our old rocker is perfect - especially with the stove on and a throw on my lap. |
